As a Minneapolis wedding and elopement photographer, I created Fern Vera Photography to preserve those fleeting chapters. The beginnings, the becoming, and all the beautiful in-between.

For life’s most sacred transformations.
Long before Fern Vera Photography existed, there were monarchs.
Every summer, I raise monarch butterflies, nurturing them through each stage of their metamorphosis: egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly. The journey is always the same, yet every story unfolds differently.
Watching them has taught me that becoming isn’t a single moment. It’s a journey we return to again and again throughout our lives.
Every monarch carries the same instinct to transform, yet each one emerges in its own time, in its own way.
Some emerge boldly. Others linger a little longer. But every one is exactly as it’s meant to be.
Somewhere between the quiet crunch of milkweed leaves and the gentle flutter of tiny wings, I realized we aren’t so different.
As a Twin Cities wedding, elopement, and couples photographer, I document people through their own seasons of becoming. No two stories, and no two journeys, are ever quite the same.
